The Daiquiri became really famous through Ernest Hemingway, who got it served in Cuba. It belongs to the family of sours. The main ingredient is a white rum, but The Cocktail has modified the classic recipe a little and mixes, among other things, a little dark rum and falernum. To this is added acid, lime and sugar.

The Daiquiri is sweet, sour and spicy at the same time, but in balanced proportions.
